Clever Car Collection celebrates another award after being named Carwow Top Rated

The Clever Car Collection is celebrating another award win after being named a Carwow Top Rated dealer for 2026.

The award was handed over to the team this week and recognises retailers that have delivered strong sales performance and consistently high standards of customer care over the past 12 months.

Carwow's team visited the Clever Car Collection's dealership – located in Basepoint Gosport on Aerodrome Road – to hand over the award and a pair of 'car dealing socks' (which James is proudly sporting in the picture above).

It comes just weeks after the Clever Car Collection was also named Highly Rated for customer service by Auto Trader for the third consecutive year.

The latest accolade is the second year in a row that the Gosport business has been named Top Rated by Carwow with the awards handed out to just 450 dealers across the UK annually.

Clever Car Collection owner James Baggott said: ‘We’re absolutely delighted to receive this.

‘To be recognised by Carwow means a huge amount to us because customer service is something we put a lot of effort into every single day.

‘We’re a small independent car dealership here in Gosport and we want every customer to feel that they’ve been treated properly, given honest advice and looked after from the moment they first contact us.

‘Having Carwow recognise the team for that is something we’re really proud of.’

Carwow’s Top Rated awards are now in their third year and recognise independent dealers, franchised retailers, leasing companies and direct-to-consumer brands that have performed strongly on the platform.

Carwow CEO John Veichmanis said the awards celebrate retailers that are setting high standards for customer excellence and helping consumers buy cars with confidence.

James added: ‘This one feels particularly nice coming so soon after our Auto Trader Highly Rated award.

‘Awards are never the reason we do what we do, but when two major car-buying platforms recognise the business within a few weeks of each other, it gives the whole team a real boost.

‘The biggest thank you, though, has to go to our customers. Their reviews, recommendations and continued support are what help us build the reputation we have.’

The Carwow award will now sit alongside Clever Car Collection’s three consecutive Auto Trader Highly Rated awards at the dealership for 2024, 2025 and 2026.

The Clever Car Collection has also been awarded by Auto Trader for its Innovation in the annual retailer awards in 2024 and was a finalist in the same category in 2025.

James added: ‘We’ll definitely find space for this latest award as they all mean so much.

‘And then we’ll get back to doing what matters most: Finding good cars and making sure the people buying them have a great experience.’
